2022 has started off COLD in Happy Valley! After a mild early Winter, the ice and snow arrived, but luckily there is always something fun to do in the State College area!
The Penn State University calendar is always full of sports events to attend which are open to the public. All of the REHV homes are located within 15 minutes of campus. The campus has plenty of parking garages that are easy to access.

As well as being the venue for both the men’s and women’s PSU basketball team games, the Bryce Jordan Center is home to concerts of all genres and other cultural events. https://bjc.psu.edu/
For a fun family outing, The Pegula Ice Arena has designated times open for public ice skating. The arena is located on the east side of campus across from the Bryce Jordan Centre. https://static.gopsusports.com/custompages/pegula/pegula-ice-arena.html#publicskating
If you’re interested in venturing away from town, Rothrock State Forest provides plenty of opportunities for hiking, biking, and exploring. We are lucky here in Pennsylvania to have FREE access to state parks and there are several that are located with a 30 minute drive of REHV homes – Black Moshannon, Whipple Dam, Bald Eagle, and Greenwood Furnace have events and opportunities for fun all year long! https://www.dcnr.pa.gov/StateParks/Pages/default.aspx
Looking to see what the area has to offer beyond downtown State College? Bellefonte, only 20 minutes away, has been growing with great food and drink establishments. There is a family friendly waterfront park along Spring Creek which flows through downtown. A little bit further away in Penns Valley, the Inglebean Coffee House and the Elk Creek Café and Aleworks are located in Milheim.
Whether you need lodging for one night after a concert, are planning a week long family vacation, or are coming to town for business, Rest Easy Happy Valley has a home to suit your style and needs!
